This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed. Other job-related duties may be assigned as required.The Datacenter Service Delivery Sr Engineer is a mid-level technical position within the Data Center Service Delivery (DCSD) discipline; responsible for keeping the operation of all the platforms and the infrastructure of the Data Center at the physical layer, by planning, coordinating and executing activities in Data Center room, and supervising those executed by internal/external vendors. He/she uses his/her expertise to design strategies to install/decomm hardware and cabling in coordination with Network and System Administrator teams, Project Managers and Vendors, ensuring the established processes and procedures are followed. He/she will be able to act independently and manage day-to-day activity supporting the data center (i.e. trouble calls, technical requests, change controls etc.). He/she will be able to execute medium to complex technical request activity and medium size projects.KEY CHALLENGES (WHAT IS THE WORK/MARKET ENVIRONMENT)The Americas Data Center environment is a fast-paced, demanding environment that requires a specialist to successfully multi-task BAU, technical request, and repair activities. The priority of “daily task” activity changes often in this environment.CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS (KEY COMPETENCIES, MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE, MINIMUM PRIOR SPAN OF CONTROL, TECHNICAL SKILLS)Required skills include 3+ years of experience in Infrastructure Technologies delivery, implementation, maintenance and analysis of data center facilities, hardware, communications infrastructure, strategies, tools and effective troubleshooting techniques, with a proven track record of operational process change and improvement.Basic background on enterprise data center facilities and infrastructure environments such as PDUs, RPPs, network and SAN infrastructures.In depth knowledge on complex Enterprise class inter-networked environments involving a combination of switched/routed/shared Ethernet, TwinAx (100GigE, 25GigE,10GigE, GigE, 100M, and 10M), SAN, and wide area connectivity.
